Machine Gun Kelly has revealed he only agreed to star in a movie so he could meet Megan Fox.
The rapper shared this latest tidbit about his whirlwind romance with Fox during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, where he was promoting his new nail polish line.
Barrymore quizzed MGK on how he and the actress started dating while he gave her a manicure using shades from his collection, UN/DN.
“Can I ask how you guys met? Did you get set up on a date?” Barrymore asked.
MGK – whose real name is Colson Baker – revealed that he and Fox started flirting while filming Midnight in the Switchgrass together and that he’d had his eye on her for a while before then.
“We were filming a movie, which ironically the only reason I took the movie was because they were like, ‘You have scenes with Megan Fox’ and I was like, ‘I’ll take the movie,'” he explained.
When MGK arrived on set, he had a gut feeling that he and Fox would hit it off.
“My gut is always right and I’m grateful for it,” he said. “For some reason, I knew she would invite me for lunch. Then, all of a sudden, someone came over and was like, ‘Megan wants to know if you want to have lunch in her trailer.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my god, I’m so surprised. Yeah, absolutely.'”
MGK went on to describe their conversation over lunch – which only confirmed that his hunch had been right.
“She said, ‘How do you feel?’ And I said, ‘I’m lost,'” he recounted. “She said, ‘Let’s find you.’ And I was like … killed me. She was cupid.”
As sweet as MGK’s story is, it isn’t really the first time that they met. In an interview with British GQ in October, the couple recalled a time several years ago when they met briefly at a GQ party.
Fox told the story of their brief first encounter, saying: “I just remember this tall, blond, ghostly creature and I looked up and I was like, “You smell like weed.” He looked down at me and he was like, ‘I am weed.’ Then, I swear to God, he disappeared like a ninja in a smoke bomb.”
