People are prejudiced against those who are not physically up to their ‘standard.’ It’s the harsh truth we all have to accept, but it doesn’t mean we don’t try to change. Photographer Haley Morris-Cafiero first realized the impact of a public’s gaze when she saw one sneering in a selfie she took in 2010 in Times Square. With movements such as #MeToo and body positivity on the go, we need to do better as people, folks!
She started the series “Wait Watchers” to document people’s public reactions towards others. She notices that many of them were reacting towards her weight! And they weren’t even hiding it!
