The Californian mom shares she often gets DMs from younger men who think she’s still in her 20s or 30s. But looking so young had proven to be an issue for her in finding a suitable date because people keep accusing her of catfishing.

Joleen broke up with her ex 14 years ago and moved away. She’s been looking for a suitor since then but hasn’t found one yet. Doing it through dating apps has proven to be challenging if she doesn’t somehow prove that she is not catfishing.
“I could link my Instagram to my profile, which would likely help prove that it’s really me, but I don’t do it because I think my social media doesn’t present the simple, down-to-earth person I am.”
“I’d like to be able to connect with someone and then explain my social media to them once they know me a bit more.”

“The majority of the messages are very polite and most are very complimentary and positive about me promoting a positive lifestyle. They do ask to go out on a date, maybe dinner or a hike, but I know that this is just curiosity and not a real intent on pursuing anything more than the narrative they think of me.”
“When younger men ask me out on dates, I find it equally as flattering as men my age or older asking me out. I think it takes a lot of courage to approach someone and ask them to meet with you one-on-one.
“I think some younger men tend to fantasize a bit more about what it would be like dating someone older, where men my age or older are more pragmatic and looking for someone to enjoy simple things in life.”

Joleen attributes her smooth skin to maintaining “a balanced, healthy diet” and staying active. She also avoids alcohol and get enough daily rest.
“I religiously take care of my skin, and every day washes my face in the morning and before I go to bed,” she continued. She doesn’t play when it comes to protecting herself and her daughter from the sunlight. Since moving to California, she never skips on sunscreen
“I absolutely use sunscreen, every day, even on cloudy, rainy days. I also use a vitamin C serum day and night.”
