Tony Rock Slams Will Smith On His Live Show For Smacking His Brother

Tony Rock has been making fun of Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, on his latest comedy show. The brother of the Oscars host, Chris Rock, told the crowd before anyone walked up to slap him, “This ain’t the motherf**king Oscars!”

The short clip reshared by The Shade Room after one of the show’s attendees shared it on his social media continued, “And if you walk your *ss up here, you ain’t nominated for s**t but these motherf**king hands! Oh, we going to pop the rest of the year, n****. Every time you see me do a show, pop!”

Will Smith had stormed up the stage after Chris Rock joked about Jada’s shaved head after she was diagnosed with alopecia areata. Viral clips, however, showed the woman giving the side-eyes at the man who was initially laughing at the ‘G.I. Jane’ reference.

Smith, who’s won the Oscars for Best Actor for his reprisal of Richard Williams in ‘King Richard’, apologized to Academy Award and his colleagues at the acceptance speech. His public apology for Chris Rock came a little later through his social media.

He has since also resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, an announcement made two days after the board began a disciplinary hearing on the incident.

“My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear, and I reacted emotionally,” Smith reasoned in his apology.

“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed, and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”
