Chris Rock Says He “Got Smacked By the Softest N**** that Ever Rapped”

In wake of Will Smith’s Oscar night slap, stand-up comedians have come to the very forefront of pop culture. Not only has the infamous incident brought America’s most beloved jokesters closer together, but it has also made them a target for onslaught shenanigans from hecklers and random acts of violence. All of those impressions were on full display this week when Dave Chappelle was attacked on stage during this set at the Netflix is a Joke festival and he was showered by a litany of support from fellow comedians shortly thereafter.

A few days after the attack, Chappelle took to the stage once again but this time it was in a much more intimate setting. The iconic stand-up comedian performed a set at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles. About ten minutes into his performance, he was joined on stage by Chris Rock, who took a seat right next to his comrade, where he remained for the duration of the show. At one point, the two entertainers engaged in humorous banter with one another about their on-stage attackers. Chappelle joked that his assailant wasn’t nearly as famous as Rock’s. While the latter responded by pointing out his attacker’s lack of street cred.

“At least you got smacked by someone of repute!” Chappelle said to Rock. “I got smacked by a homeless guy with leaves in his hair.”

To that, Rock chuckled and responded, “I got smacked by the softest n***a that ever rapped.”

The two victims of assault took their highly publicized incidents in stride as they comforted one another in a joking manner on stage. For more on this story, hit the link below.
