A man in Arizona is ac’cused of hi’tting a bicyclist and then leaving the man to d’ie while he fl’ed the area.
Fernando Ramos was ar’rested in Buckeye, Arizona, in connection to the May 21 incident, according to 12 News.
P’olice said Ramos was driving his truck on Jackrabbit Trail when he cr’ashed into a bicyclist, dragged the vi’ctim along the road and then ran over him before fl’eeing.
The vi’ctim was identified as George Cooper, 60, according to 12 News.
Cooper was found de’ad at the scene and po’lice said Ramos didn’t stop to help or call po’lice, according to the report. Tipsters reported the su’spect’s vehicle and Ramos was pulled over about 10 miles from the scene.
Ramos told officers he didn’t see Cooper when the cr’ash happened, according to 12 News. He also said he pan’icked and called his wife multiple times.
Inve’stigators said Ramos was speeding at the time of the w’reck.
Ramos was ar’rested and faces cha’rges of man’slaught’er and h’it-and-run resulting in de’ath or in’jury.
