‘Euphoria’ Star Sydney Sweeney Says She Barely “Able to Afford” Life

One of HBO’s recent biggest breaks was the “Euphoria,” starring Sydney Sweeney, a 24-year-old American actress who’s appeared in multiple shows before this and was previously known for Netflix’s “Everything Sucks!”.

Despite a number of appearances in TV shows, including HBO’s hit show “Euphoria,” she’s by no means living the stardom life.

Sydney revealed to The Hollywood Reporter, “If I wanted to take a six-month break, I don’t have the income to cover that. I don’t have someone supporting me; I don’t have anyone I can turn to, to pay my bills or call for help.”

She does get great deals from brands, such as Laneige and Armani beauty campaign as a rising sex symbol. But she doesn’t take home profit as much as people think she does. She added, “They don’t pay actors like they used to, and with streamers, you no longer get residuals.”

The star revealed her pay cut, “The established stars still get paid, but I have to give 5 percent to my lawyer, 10 percent to my agents, 3 percent or something like that to my business manager.”

“I have to pay my publicist every month, and that’s more than my mortgage. If I just acted, I wouldn’t be able to afford my life in LA. I take deals because I have to.”

She does lives in a $3 million Los Angeles mansion that has a porch overlooking the golf course. And she admitted that she was crunching the numbers before acquiring the property and believed she wouldn’t have been able to buy it, but she did.

The “White Lotus” star also spoke of how her family went through a lot of financial instabilities, especially during the time she was pursuing her acting career as a teenager.

She recalled that one time they had to stay at a motel, “We lived in one room. My mom and I shared a bed, and my dad and little brother shared a couch.”

Money because one of the reasons her parents’ relationship strained, and that was why Sweeney was obsessed with making as much money to get a house. But reality is often disappointing, as she recalled, “I thought that if I made enough money, I’d be able to buy my parents’ house back and that I’d be able to put my parents back together.”

“But when I turned 18, I only had $800 to my name. My parents weren’t back together, and there was nothing I could do to help.”
