Dr. Dre’s Homeless Daughter’s $50,000 GoFundMe Campaign To Provide Shelter For Four Kids Failing, Only $6,000 Has Been Raised

Dr. Dre’s public life has been under immense media coverage since the talks of his highly expensive divorce battle with his estranged wife, Nicole Young. Now, amid the divorce proceedings, and still recovering from a near-fatal brain aneurysm earlier this year, Dr. Dre’s eldest daughter, Latanya Young, has revealed that she is struggling and without a place to call home, although her father is a certified billionaire.

Latanya Young, daughter of Dr. Dre, real name Andre Young, and his then-girlfriend Lisa Johnson, shared in an interview with the Daily Mail that she was homeless and living out of a rented SUV. Young’s heartbreaking reveal also included claims that she had not spoken to her father in almost 20 years with the only communication being through his team. Young is a single mother to four children.

‘I’ve been working in a warehouse and doing Uber Eats and DoorDash,” Young explained during her interview. “My kids are staying with friends — they are not living in the car, it’s just me. I’m taking odd jobs just to make it now — I got paid $15 an hour as an assembler at the warehouse. I’m trying to keep my head above water. I’ve been in debt for a while.”

“The Chronic” rapper’s daughter also claims that due to the expense attached to the rented SUV, she may very well have to return it shortly. Elsewhere in the interview, Young states that she is “embarrassed” that Dre’s estranged wife would be receiving the money that she is getting from the divorce settlement, claiming that it is her mother who should rightfully be given the same judgment.

As many may or may not know, Dr. Dre hasn’t had the best reputation when it comes to women and his relationships. Multiple allegations have surrounded Dre surrounding abusive incidents, including with Latanya’s mother, Lisa Johnson.

“It’s embarrassing because people are looking at me wondering: Why,” asked Latanya before declaring, “What Nicole has got is what my mom should have got.”

Young’s story caught the attention of the masses who she says would begin to suggest that she set up a GoFundMe page, to which she has. “This fundraiser is to help Latanya and her four kids find a safe and stable home,” the page’s description states. “She is currently working at DoorDash to keep afloat and these funds will be deeply appreciated. Thank you so much.”

Calling it a “desperate situation” to the Daily Mail, she explains, “I really don’t want to accept any handouts, but I appreciate anything that is offered. “I have worked all my life and I know how to work for money but I’m in a difficult place right now. I believe in investing in your kids. That’s what I want to do for my kids so they are never in a position like I am right now.”

Young added, “I know my dad is a busy man, but I hope he will see it and reach back out to me on a father-daughter level.” The campaign was launched on August 9th and to date has only raised around $6,000 with donations from 329 donors – falling around $44,000 short.
