Romance can be a beautiful thing, but when deception is involved, it can quickly turn into a nightmare. I learned this the hard way when my boyfriend planned a romantic getaway to a luxury hotel. Everything seemed perfect – the lavish room, the exquisite dining, and the relaxing spa treatments. That is, until checkout.
When my boyfriend’s card was declined, he turned bright red with embarrassment. I, on the other hand, smiled and offered to pay for our stay. Little did I know, this was only the beginning of a series of events that would reveal my boyfriend’s true intentions.
As we were leaving the hotel, the receptionist discreetly pulled me aside and warned me about my boyfriend’s scam. Apparently, he had a history of doing the same thing with other women – checking into luxury hotels, having his card declined, and relying on his partner to foot the bill.
