‘Deadpool Killer’ Made Disturbing Request To Police In Exchange For Victim’s Body
The ‘Deadpool killer’ made a disturbing request to police in exchange for a victim’s body.
Wade Wilson, who shares the same name as Marvel’s wisecracking antihero, was sentenced to death in 2024 for the murders of two women in Cape Coral, Florida.
The case horrified investigators because of the brutality involved. But what has continued to disturb people even more is Wilson’s behavior after the killings.
Rather than showing remorse, detectives, prosecutors, and even his own family described a man who appeared detached from the suffering he caused.
Recent true-crime documentaries, including Netflix’s Worst Ex Ever, have brought renewed attention to the case, revealing previously discussed details from police interviews and the investigation.
Among the revelations is one exchange with detectives that many viewers have found particularly chilling.
A killer who became the center of online fascination
Wilson was convicted of murdering Kristine Melton, 35, and Diane Ruiz, 43, on October 7, 2019.
Prosecutors said the murders occurred just hours apart.
According to trial testimony, Wilson met Melton at a bar before eventually strangling her inside her Cape Coral home.
Afterward, authorities said he stole her vehicle and continued driving around the area.
Later that same day, Wilson encountered Ruiz while she was walking.
Investigators said he convinced her to enter the stolen vehicle before attacking her.
Judge Nicholas Thompson later described the crimes as ‘heinous, atrocious and cruel,’ with Ruiz’s murder also deemed ‘cold, calculated and premeditated.’
Wilson was ultimately found guilty on multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree murder, and received two death sentences.
But the case gained another bizarre dimension after his arrest.
Despite being accused of horrific crimes, Wilson attracted a surprising number of online supporters.
Some followers referred to themselves as “Wade’s Wives,” while others sent letters, money, photographs, and gifts to the convicted killer.
Experts have linked this phenomenon to hybristophilia — a psychological attraction to violent criminals.
For the victims’ loved ones, however, the fascination surrounding Wilson only deepened the pain caused by the murders.
His father helped investigators build the case
One of the most significant witnesses against Wilson turned out to be his own biological father, Steven Testasecca.
Wilson had reconnected with Testasecca as an adult after being adopted as a baby.
Following the murders, Wilson reportedly called his father and discussed what he had done.
Testasecca later testified that his son admitted something terrible had happened.
Rather than helping him avoid responsibility, Testasecca contacted authorities and encouraged Wilson to surrender.
His cooperation became a key part of the prosecution’s case.
Court testimony revealed that Wilson allegedly described the murders in graphic detail.
Testasecca also claimed his son laughed while recounting aspects of the killings.
One particularly disturbing allegation involved Wilson boasting that he repeatedly drove over Diane Ruiz until she resembled ‘spaghetti.’
The testimony shocked courtroom observers and reinforced prosecutors’ arguments that Wilson displayed an extraordinary lack of empathy.
Investigators later said his attitude during questioning raised additional concerns.

Detectives were stunned by his lack of remorse
Following his arrest, Wilson spoke extensively with law enforcement.
Rather than denying involvement, he often appeared willing to discuss the crimes.
According to interviews featured in documentaries and trial coverage, Wilson admitted targeting women and described using his appearance to gain their trust.
He reportedly told investigators he relied on his “looks” and charm to get close to victims.
At one point, he described seeing Ruiz walking and deciding she would become his next target.
Wilson also made disturbing comments about sensing fear in his victims.
When discussing Ruiz, he compared himself to a predator and described her as prey.
Those remarks became some of the most widely discussed moments from the investigation.
But they were not the only comments that left detectives unsettled.
Investigators later revealed that Wilson seemed more concerned about his own comfort than helping locate one of the women he had killed.
At the time, police were still searching for Diane Ruiz’s body.
Wilson knew where it was.
And rather than immediately cooperating, he allegedly attempted to negotiate.
The disturbing request he made in exchange for a victim’s body
According to details revisited in Worst Ex Ever, Wilson tried to strike a bizarre bargain with detectives while they searched for Ruiz.
Unaware that investigators had already located her remains, Wilson reportedly believed he still had valuable information.
Instead of simply telling police where to find her, he attempted to trade the information for food, per Netflix.
“Might seem stupid. Give me some French fries and a burger, and I’m gonna take you right where you want to go. That’s all I want, bro,” Wilson allegedly told investigators.
He continued: “You’re going to take me to eat, so I’ll show you the body, right? You’re going to get me some French fries? Let’s go get this body. Come on. It’s gonna get dark. I’m hungry.”
Detective Jones later reflected on the exchange, saying: “He wanted to trade a body for a meal.”
The detective added: “It’s almost like there was nothing there. There was no remorse, no empathy.”
The comments became one of the most disturbing details to emerge from the case because they appeared to show Wilson treating the location of a murder victim as a bargaining chip.
Rather than expressing concern for Ruiz or her grieving family, investigators said he seemed focused on satisfying a craving.
