Man Crashes into Car Dealership After Request is Denied

A shocking incident unfolded at a car dealership in Utah when a man crashed his newly purchased Subaru through the front doors. The dramatic scene was caught on camera and has since gone viral.

The man, identified as Michael Lee Murray, had purchased the Subaru Outback from the Tim Dale Mazda Southtowne dealership in Sandy earlier that day. However, when he returned to the dealership with a request that was denied, he became enraged.

Murray’s request for a refund was rejected by the dealership staff, which led to a heated exchange. Witnesses reported that Murray threatened to drive his car through the front doors if his demands were not met. Unfortunately, he followed through on his threat.

The surveillance footage shows the Subaru crashing through the glass doors and into the reception area. Staff members narrowly escaped injury as they dodged the oncoming car and flying debris.

Tyler Slade, the platform manager at the dealership, described the scene as “sounding like a bomb went off” when the car crashed through the doors. Murray emerged from the vehicle, shouting expletives and slamming the car door.

The staff immediately called the police, and Murray was arrested and charged with felony criminal mischief and misdemeanors for reckless endangerment and economic interruption. He was released from custody on Tuesday.

In an interview, Murray claimed that he “blacked out” in a rage and didn’t remember much of the incident. He expressed regret over his actions and acknowledged that he had reached a breaking point.

The incident caused an estimated $10,000 in damages to the dealership, including shattered glass and damaged cars. Fortunately, no one was injured in the crash.

The shocking incident serves as a reminder of the importance of managing anger and finding constructive ways to resolve conflicts.
