I have to tell you this because my heart is so full I can hardly keep it in.
My little girl is only eleven. She has never been one to collect friends easily. Last year was especially painful for her. Some children were cruel, and it broke her spirit in ways only a parent can see. Since then, she has found her safe place here at home with me and our dogs, where she feels loved and protected.
For weeks she has been sitting nearby while I work on my crochet orders from the Tedooo app. Quiet as always, just watching my hands move, watching the yarn turn into dolls and blankets. She never said much. Just studied every stitch.
Then I noticed something strange. A few skeins of yarn were disappearing. When I asked, she only smiled and said she was working on a surprise.
Yesterday she came into my room, holding something behind her back, her face glowing in a way I had not seen in a long time. She placed it in my hands and said, Mama, I made this.
It was a tiny dress. Perfect stitches. Even edges. Made completely by her own hands.
Then she looked at me and said, One day I want to open my own shop on the Tedooo app, just like you.
I had to turn away so she would not see the tears.
This is the same child who once came home in silence after being hurt by words. Now here she was, standing tall, proud of something she created, brave enough to dream again.
I cannot explain what that moment did to my heart.
If you believe in quiet kids. If you believe in healing through love and patience. If you believe in second chances after hard seasons.
Please send a little kindness her way. It would mean more to her than you know.
