A Mother’s Warning: The Hidden Dangers of Bath Toys

For many children, bath time is a fun and relaxing experience, filled with toys and games. However, one Illinois mother’s terrifying experience has left her warning parents about the potential dangers of seemingly harmless bath toys.

Eden Strong’s 2-year-old son, Baylor, was enjoying a bath when his mother noticed his eye becoming irritated. Initially, she thought it was just water in his eye, but as the night progressed, Baylor’s condition worsened. He developed cellulitis, a potentially serious bacterial skin infection, which spread rapidly, causing his eye to protrude from his face.

Eden was devastated, fearing that her son might lose his eyesight. She rushed him to the hospital, where he underwent treatment for several days. Thankfully, Baylor’s eyes healed, but the experience left Eden shaken.

The cause of Baylor’s horrific injury was a squirting bath toy. Eden discovered that these toys can harbor bacteria, which can multiply rapidly, causing serious infections. She was horrified to learn that the toy had been breeding bacteria, putting her child’s health at risk.

Eden took to social media to warn other parents about the dangers of these bath toys. Her post went viral, with over 192,000 shares, and many parents responded with similar stories of their children’s experiences with infected bath toys.

Eden hopes that manufacturers will take note of this issue and design safer bath toys. In the meantime, she has discarded all of Baylor’s squeezable toys, prioritizing her child’s safety above all else.

This frightening experience serves as a reminder to parents to be vigilant about their children’s toys and to take steps to prevent such accidents from occurring. By sharing her story, Eden aims to raise awareness and prevent other families from going through similar ordeals.
