Legendary rock star Sir Paul McCartney, famously known as a member of The Beatles, was recently spotted with a fresh hairstyle—a man bun—while vacationing in St. Barts with his wife, Nancy Shevell. Despite global travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 78-year-old musician seemed to be enjoying his annual Caribbean retreat.
As he nears his 80th birthday, McCartney continues to embrace a youthful spirit by experimenting with his appearance. Nancy Shevell also turned heads with her chic outfit, wearing a pink top, a brown fedora, and oversized sunglasses.
Throughout his career, McCartney and the other Beatles were celebrated for their distinctive hairstyles. McCartney, who has often sported long hair, is now trying out the trendy man bun, showcasing his openness to new styles.
In 2018, McCartney made news by stopping the dyeing of his hair, choosing to embrace his natural gray locks instead of his signature red hair.
McCartney’s holiday season has been quite eventful. Along with his St. Barts vacation, he released a new album titled “McCartney III,” which he wrote and recorded during the lockdown. In an interview with actor Idris Elba, McCartney revealed that creating the album was an unplanned yet natural process.
“Everyone was cleaning out their closets and finishing projects they had been putting off. Making an album was my version of that,” he said. “I had no plans to make an album. I just had ten songs and thought, ‘What should I do with them?’ I didn’t realize I was making an album, so I only recorded ten tracks.”
When discussing the album’s title, McCartney explained that “McCartney III” was a fitting choice as it followed the style of his previous solo albums, “McCartney I” and “McCartney II.”
“I noticed that since I played all the instruments on McCartney I and McCartney II, this one followed the same approach, so it naturally became McCartney III. That’s when I knew exactly what I was doing.”
Although McCartney may not be as constantly in the spotlight as during his Beatles days, he continues to make an impact with his music and style, proving that his creativity and vibrant spirit are still very much alive.
