Saoírse Ruane, the 12-year-old girl from Galway who stole the hearts of millions with her remarkable courage and resilience, has passed away. Her family announced the devastating news, describing their beautiful girl’s fierce battle with cancer as a “long, brave, and dignified” fight.

Saoírse’s story touched the nation when she appeared on the Late Late Toy Show in 2020, sharing her journey with a rare form of bone cancer. Her strength, kindness, and infectious smile inspired a country, and her legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched.
