In a heart-wrenching turn of events, two young lives were cut short due to phone electrocution. Maria Antonietta Cutillo, a 16-year-old Italian teenager, and Wanchai Deengam, a 27-year-old Thai man, tragically lost their lives in separate incidents.
Maria was on a call with a friend while taking a bath when her phone slipped into the water, causing a fatal short circuit. Her friend, who was on the call, heard her scream before the line went dead.
Emergency services found Maria unresponsive, and she was later pronounced dead due to electrocution.
In a similar incident, Wanchai fell asleep with his phone charging and was found dead the next morning.
His brother, Somkuan, had warned him about the dangers of using phones while charging, but tragically, it didn’t save his life.
These incidents serve as a stark reminder of the hidden dangers in our daily lives. Phone electrocution may be rare, but it can happen to anyone, anywhere.
Let us honor Maria and Wanchai’s memories by being mindful of our phone usage and taking necessary precautions to stay safe.
Rest in peace, Maria and Wanchai. Your lives were cut short, but your stories will live on, serving as a warning to others.
