I was thrilled to share my promotion news with my boyfriend Troy over a fancy dinner. But the evening took an unexpected turn when Troy’s true colors were revealed.
Instead of being proud and supportive, he became fixated on paying the bill with my card, making me feel embarrassed and humiliated.
As we enjoyed our meal, Troy’s behavior changed from charming to condescending. He insisted on using my card, claiming he didn’t have enough money, and even flirted with the waitress, making me feel uncomfortable.
I reluctantly handed over my card, feeling cornered and drained.
But then, I discovered Troy’s true intentions. He was trying to impress the waitress, writing his number on a napkin and making overt gestures.
I felt a surge of anger and humiliation. I quickly disabled my card, and when Troy tried to pay, it was declined.
The waitress informed us of the issue, and Troy’s facade crumbled. I pretended to be worried, suggesting he call the bank.
But when he couldn’t provide the necessary information, I took control, paying the bill with another card and leaving Troy to struggle with the tip.
As we parted ways, the waitress revealed she had discarded the napkin with Troy’s number. I realized I deserved better than a relationship that made me doubt myself. I was finally over Troy and his condescending behavior.
