Teachers are the backbone of our society, yet they often receive the lowest pay. Despite this, they continue to go above and beyond for their students. One such example is Jonathan Oliver, a physical education teacher and coach at WG Nunn Elementary School in Valdosta, Georgia.
During a kindergarten basketball game, Oliver was caught on camera assisting a student, Kristen Paulk, with tying her hair back in a ponytail. The thoughtful gesture was recorded by teacher Kandice Anderson and quickly went viral on YouTube.
Oliver’s selfless act was recognized by Good Morning America, and he was approached for an interview. “It was shocking to me that it got that much attention because we all do it,” Oliver said. “We [teachers] want to make them feel like they’re at home and that they enjoy being here.”
The coach’s humble response highlights the dedication and love that teachers have for their students. Oliver’s actions not only made a positive impact on Kristen but also on her mother, Miyah Cleckley, who expressed her gratitude and trust in the coach.
This heartwarming story is just one example of the countless selfless acts of teachers. They are true heroes, making a difference in the lives of their students every day. Share this inspiring story with your family and friends to spread the love and appreciation for our dedicated teachers!
