A devoted elderly couple recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary with a romantic dinner. As they sat together, the old man turned to his wife with a curious expression.
“Dear, I’ve always had a question for you,” he said softly, his eyes filled with a mix of love and concern. “I’ve always wondered about our tenth child… he never quite looked like the others, did he?”
The wife’s response was unexpected, yet heartfelt. “My dear, these seventy-five years have been the most incredible journey I could have ever imagined. Your question can’t take away from that.” She paused, collecting her thoughts before continuing.
“But I must confess… yes, he did have a father of his own.” The old man was visibly shaken, the truth hitting him harder than he had anticipated.
The elderly woman looked down, struggling to find the courage to reveal the truth. Her husband’s eyes welled up with tears as he asked, “Who? Who was he? Who was the father?”
The woman’s silence was palpable, until finally, she whispered, “You.”
