For those who have ever dreamed of flying like a billionaire, now’s your chance. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has put one of his private jets up for sale. The Gulfstream G650ER, which was purchased in 2016 for around $65 million, is now on the market for $39 million.
While this may seem like a hefty price tag, it’s only a tiny fraction of Bezos’ net worth, which stands at $220.3 billion. The jet has flown 224 hours across 73 flights this year alone, costing an estimated $677,000 in fuel and emitting around 1,100 tons of carbon.
The listing photos showcase the jet’s luxurious interior, which features hand-crafted seats and couches that can accommodate up to 16 passengers. The cabin also boasts sixteen panoramic oval windows, which offer breathtaking views. Other amenities include meeting rooms, restrooms, and TVs on board.
The jet’s clean air system delivers 100% fresh air every two to three minutes, and its air-ionizing technology neutralizes allergens and viruses. Bezos purchased the jet in 2016, and it’s registered to his holding company, Poplar Glen LLC.
Interestingly, Bezos has a history of making humble purchases. Despite being one of the richest men in the world, he reportedly continued to drive his 1997 Honda Accord for years after becoming a billionaire.
However, his love for luxury private jets is well-documented, and he owns several other aircraft, including a Gulfstream G700 and a Pilatus PC-24.
