We always seem to freeze time around certain people, and child stars are one of them. We know that they grew up with us in many ways, but they stopped growing in our minds at some point.
Many people who grew up in the 1970s think of Ricky Schroder as one of those people. He got a Golden Globe for his role in The Champ. After that, he played a part on Silver Spoons.
Schroder chose to be a more serious character after the show was over. He did play parts in a number of TV shows, such as NYPD Blue and Scrubs.
Sometime in the early 2000s, he chose to make and direct a movie called Black Cloud. Seeing as how he won an award for Best Director, it looks like he was also good at that.
It’s too bad that his personal life wasn’t quite as great as what was shown on TV. He was jailed and charged with assault and battery in 1992 for hitting a woman. At the time, he was said to have hit his partner.
After that, they got married and had four kids together, but in 2016 they split up. After that, Ricky’s life went downhill and he started partying all the time.
In the end, he was arrested for attacking his lover again in 2019 and had to pay $50,000 bail. In the end, the case was thrown out.
He has been on social media a few times, but other than that, he has stayed out of the spotlight. There was an Instagram picture of him wearing a hat and a denim shirt that a lot of people found interesting. He talked about his childhood and the things he did.
His picture didn’t exactly get the reaction he probably thought it would. A lot of people said bad things about him and said he looked rough. Others, though, said that rough looked good on him.
No matter what other people think, we hope Ricky Schroder is back on track and wish him the best in everything he does.
