A Mother’s Heartbreaking Goodbye: A 2-Year-Old’s Final Moments

As a parent, there’s nothing more devastating than watching your child suffer from a terminal illness. For Magalli Jimenez, this nightmare became a harsh reality when her 2-year-old daughter, Ava Skye, was diagnosed with muscular cancer.

At first, Ava’s life was like any other child’s. But everything changed when she turned 13 months old. Her mother noticed that she was in discomfort and took her to the doctor. The diagnosis was devastating: a lethal form of cancer that was hindering Ava’s physical growth and causing her immense pain.

Magalli was determined to be strong for her daughter and embarked on a journey to fight the cancer. Ava underwent several rounds of chemotherapy, and her family was overjoyed when she was declared to be in remission.

However, their happiness was short-lived. Ava’s cancer relapsed in July 2022, and the doctors informed the family that the cancer was resistant to treatment. The only option was surgery, but due to Ava’s young age, the chances of her recovering from the procedure were slim.

Magalli made the difficult decision to place Ava in hospice care to make her remaining days as comfortable as possible. As Ava’s condition deteriorated, Magalli made sure to cherish every moment with her daughter.

The family created a bucket list for Ava, and Magalli’s friend, Davina Galvan, set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for the family. Ava passed away on August 22, 2022, surrounded by her mother.

In a heart-wrenching video, Ava can be seen singing her favorite song to her mother just a day before she passed away. The video captures the special bond between Ava and her mother, and it’s a testament to the little girl’s bravery and spirit.

Magalli shared the video on social media, and it has touched the hearts of many. She expressed her grief and longing for her daughter, saying, “My heart will forever be broken, it will never be the same, but I promised her that I would live for her.”

Our thoughts are with Ava’s family as they cope with this unbearable loss.
