The Dad Is Totally To Blame For The Half Marathon Mom “Ignoring” Her Kids

A frustrating moment in sports is going viral after a dad let his kids almost ruin his mom’s half marathon win. The dad must have passed out from stupidity.

Olivia Grandi Lourenção, a personal trainer, runs toward the finish line of the Presidente Prudente Half Marathon in Brazil in the video. In the video’s foreground, a big yellow ribbon tells watchers that she will be the first woman to finish and win the category.

The video shows what looks like her husband and three kids watching from the sides as she speeds down the hill, determined to win.

He doesn’t want the kids to stand back and watch their mom be a total badass. Instead, he thinks that right before her big win is the best time to let the kids stand in her way, asking for hugs and generally being a bother.

Even though her husband tries to mess it up for her, Lourenção runs wide and avoids her kids to speed up and win. One of the girls even starts to chase after her mom, which gets in the way of people who are still running the race.

Lourenção is very happy and proud because she just finished a really cool run. She hugs another runner and screams with joy.

After the win, what does her husband do? In the video, he can be seen in the background, looking totally confused and shrugging like, “Why didn’t she stop for her kids?” “What the heck?”

He doesn’t stand behind her. He doesn’t celebrate by putting his hands up in the air. He doesn’t hand clap. He just looks ashamed and angry that she blew past them while she was trying to win a half marathon, for which she must have trained very hard.

“Dude, you can’t just throw your kids in the middle of the running path!” maybe some people in the crowd said. and gave me a shrug like, “What?! “How can I?!” Any mom or wife can tell you that he has no idea what he’s doing because the video doesn’t explain his strange behavior after she won.

You could picture him talking to his buddies about his wife’s cute, silly running hobby on the golf course or somewhere else.

I don’t understand why this man couldn’t stay with the kids after the race. Give her her time! She can have a hobby, a job, or a reason for living besides being a mom.

Just to remind her, it’s okay to do something amazing without having kids hanging off her arms and legs.

Maybe he wants her fame and tough status more than she does. It’s possible that he doesn’t like her because she trained while being a wife and mom. Maybe he has no idea what he’s talking about and meant well but completely missed the point.

No matter what happened, Lourenção shouldn’t get any bad press for skipping her family to get to the finish line. Does an NBA player stop in the middle of a free throw to talk to his family in the stands? Travis Kelce: Does Taylor Swift kiss him in her room before he scores the game-winning touchdown?

Without a doubt not. Men who play professional sports have even been made fun of for putting their families first. Now picture a mom with the same goals. How could she stay focused? There is already a TikTok search term for the video: “marathon mom ignores kids.” If you don’t believe me that this video could go viral and cause people to attack the mom,

“Marathon mom ignores kids” is going viral for good reason – she should be able to win a race and then love on her children and not been in that position

Could we please add, “because her husband is a dope” at the end of that?

When the video went popular on TikTok, people were furious at the man who seemed set on ruining his wife’s win for her.

“He wants her to remember that the only things that matter are him and the kids.” No matter how much she got done. I’m glad she made her own choice!” Someone wrote.

Someone else said, “This is a great example of how some husbands treat their wives’ important commitments outside of family life as if they were a joke, not important, or just ‘for fun.'”

“This is what women mean when they say they’re not just a mom, they’re people!!!” It’s her time to shine! “Good job!” said someone else.

Someone on TikTok made a movie about the viral moment and talked about the history of women runners and marathons.

Sara McCord replies, “First of all, these famous photos and videos of Catherine Switzer are well known to anyone who knows anything about the history of women and marathons.” Behind her, she shows photos from the run.

“That was only 1967.” She was the first woman to be allowed to run the Boston Marathon, and you can see that men are trying to push her off the road the whole time because they thought women didn’t belong there.

It looks like there might still be some of that vibe around here in 2024. Cheers to the women who keep going.
