Dad’s Disturbing Final Post Before Killing Ex-Wife And Son At Hockey Game

The disturbing final social media post shared by a father before he opened fire at a high school hockey game, leaving two people dead and three others injured, has been revealed.

The horror shooting unfolded inside Lynch Arena, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, earlier this year, when students, relatives, and supporters had gathered to celebrate ‘senior night’, a long standing tradition recognizing graduating players from Blackstone Valley Schools’ hockey teams.

What was meant to be a joyful occasion quickly turned into panic when a gunman reportedly began shooting inside the crowded arena.

Pawtucket Mayor Don Grebien described the Rhode Island shooting as a ‘terrible tragedy,’ explaining that the community had gathered to honor the achievements of student-athletes.

“Family and friends were gathered today at a hockey game at Lynch Arena to celebrate senior night, bringing together communities across the state,” Grebien said.

“Instead, an act of senseless violence has taken the lives of two innocent victims, with the suspect taking his own life.”

Students rushed for cover

Students who were on the ice when the shooting broke out have since spoken about the terrifying moments that followed.

One player recalled initially believing the sounds were balloons popping somewhere in the arena.

Coventry player Olin Lawrence claimed: “I was on the ice and I thought it was balloons at first. It was like ‘bop, bop,’ and I thought it was balloons, but this kept going, and it was actually gunshots.

“Me and my teammates ran right to the locker room and we just bunkered up and we pressed against the door and we tried to stay safe down there.

“But it was very scary, we were very nervous.”

Within moments, players and coaches were seen rushing to find safety.

Police later confirmed that one victim was pronounced dead inside the arena, while a second person succumbed to their injuries at a nearby hospital. Authorities believe both victims were adults.

Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves said three additional victims remain in critical condition and are currently ‘fighting for their lives.’

Officials also believe a bystander’s quick actions may have helped stop the situation from becoming even more deadly.

Police identify suspected gunman

Authorities later named the suspected shooter as 56-year-old Robert Dorgan, who also used the name Roberta Esposito. Police confirmed the suspect died at the scene from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Investigators believe the Rhode Island shooting may have been connected to a domestic dispute involving relatives who were attending the hockey game.

Reports indicate the suspect allegedly targeted their wife and three children before turning the gun on themself.

Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee confirmed an investigation remains ongoing and said his thoughts are with everyone affected.

In a statement, he said: “As Governor, a parent, and a former coach, my heart breaks for the victims, families, students and everyone impacted by the devastating shooting at Lynch Arena in Pawtucket.”

FBI responds to fatal shooting

FBI director Kash Pate shared a statement on X (formerly Twitter), confirming that federal agents were assisting local authorities following the deadly Rhode Island shooting.

He wrote: “We will provide state and local law enforcement any and all resources necessary and keep the public updated as we are able. In the meantime please pray for the victims and their families.”

The father’s disturbing final posts

Multiple social media posts allegedly linked to the father have surfaced since authorities named them as the primary suspect in the deadly attack.

The posts appear to show Dorgan expressing racist, antisemitic, and pro-Nazi views online.

One of the suspect’s final posts, shared on February 15, showed Dorgan responding to a video praising Nazi leader Adolf Hitler with the comment: “Really nice but a c***k made that song.”

Another post dated February 16, the day of the shooting, allegedly included a false claim describing the President of Switzerland as Jewish.

Court documents obtained by WPRI state that Dorgan separated from their wife, Rhonda, in 2020 because of disagreements surrounding ‘gender reassignment surgery as well as ‘narcissistic + personality disorder traits.’
